Arahal Drum
It was on the eleventh of May of a distant year 1980, in the Sevillian town of Arahal, when this feeling was born in the form of a music band, called Agrupación Musical Nuestra Señora de la Victoria, a name that we took in honor of one of the parishes of this blessed town, but let's be rigorous and honest with our History, and let us mention, with all the rigor, where our roots begin, and from where our musical spring is born. In 1963, a Valencian military veteran Don Antonio Santiago Belizón Jiménez arrived in Arahal, a passionate about music, this soldier was kind enough to form a band of bugles and drums, within the O J E (Spanish youth organization) this band was supported economically and socially by the brotherhoods and the organization itself, to this musical formation they were immediately called, for their musical knowledge, acquired in the old Municipal Band of Arahal to Don Luis Alfonso Godino and Don José Segura Medina, it is also the circumstance that both also belong to families of great and historical musicians of Arahal, in addition Don Manuel Rodríguez Ruiz joins the band, these three people make up the musical column of the Banda de la O J E. At the end of the 60s, the Band of the 2nd Mobile Command of the Civil Guard of Eritaña already visited Arahal, which is considered the Mother of this style now called Group, of its style and music was a reflection that band of the O J E, which was impregnated with the style of that unforgettable military band. In 1970 the Banda de la OJE disappeared, changing its name to the Banda del Stmo. Christ of Hope, because it was this Brotherhood of Hope that supported it. But in 1973, Don Manuel Rodríguez Ruiz and Don Luis Alfonso Godino, decided to create the Agrupación Musical Santa Mariah Magdalena de Arahal, which was joined by Don José Segura and many of the boys who had been in the previous formations, plus the new additions. But in 1980 internal problems caused the Agrupación Musical Santa María Magdalena de Arahal to split. The Arahal Drum has its origins in the typical Royal boxes built in the lower Aragón for its tamborradas, built with a student's helmet, its 60 interior bass strings make its strident sound used by large groups and music bands to highlight the main touch of the drum roll.
