Professional Flamenco Castanets

Spanish castanets NPdrums are a traditional musical instrument that is mainly used in Spanish folk music and dance, especially flamenco. They are made of wood, with a shape that resembles a small shell or "shell", and produce a characteristic sound when they are struck against each other. Its main function is to mark the rhythm and accompany the music, adding emphasis and rhythmic complexity to the dance.

How are they used?
Castanets are placed on the fingers of both hands (usually on the thumb and middle) by strings that hold them in place. To play them, the musician or dancer hits them together using finger and hand movements, producing fast, dry sounds that follow the rhythm of the music. In flamenco dance, castanets are a fundamental element, as they help to highlight the dance steps and keep the rhythm. In addition, they are used in some traditional dances from other regions of Spain.

The playing of castanets requires a lot of practice, as it involves coordination and dexterity in the movements of the fingers.
